- Research consultancy across disciplines
- Overall Design (from conception): We provide expert advice on the overall design of research projects, bearing in mind the feasibility factor in terms of space, time, and resources. We stress on, and put in a lot of energy in project conception because we know that a poorly designed research project leads to misleading results.
- Advice on Literature Review: We provide expertise in the scientific procedures of reviewing literature at the conceptual, empirical, and theoretical level. Excellent literature is one that is original, reflective, critical, and void of ‘copy and paste’. We emphasis on five core elements necessary in every literature: cite, compare, contrast, critique, and connect.
- Instrument Design: Research instruments have a key stake in the outcome of every research. We design excellent questionnaires, data sheets, interview protocols, etc. We ensure that the instrument perfectly addresses the research objectives.
- Data Collection: We have a formidable team of experts that specialize in research methodology and have been trained in the techniques of data collection (how to get optimum answers from respondents and participants, ensure research instruments are completed, hook respondents and participants right to the end, and the respect of ethics during data collection). Reliable data is one that is collected by trained experts from an institution like ICICREMW. If you want quality results, go for quality data collectors. That is why we are here.
- Data Analysis: We provide expertise in quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods analysis. We are versed with statistical software like SPSS, Excel, Stata, etc. and how these can be integrated suitable into Microsoft word. We are excellent in designing tables. We also transcribe qualitative interviews and are excellent in crafting out thematic elements from the interviews.
- Framing of Research Results towards Excellent Decisions and Policies: The reason we are here as a Research Centre is to ensure that scientific research findings are taken seriously by policy makers. This is our major contribution to making life meaningful for individuals and institutions.
- Advice on outstanding Research Presentations that create impact: We provide expertise in PowerPoint design and presentation for academic defenses (especially Master’s and Ph.D.), seminars, conferences, professional meetings, etc. We also focus on presentations that communicate research findings to our research communities. When they provide us with information, we communicate back the findings to them, and how they can participate in decision making and development.
- Training of communication researchers and media writers: One of our principal goals is to cause trainees to develop passion for communication research, especially the scientific procedures that come with it. Scientific research gives joy. We are here to help trainees develop this passion and see how they can intervene in making their communities, Cameroon, Africa, and the world a better place in terms of the role of the media of communication.
- Editing and provision of expert insights (Books, Journal Articles, Theses, Long Essays, newsletters, magazines, web content): We ensure proper editing and proofreading to improve the standard of the work. We take care of grammar and style required to publish the work and keep it at an acceptable standard. We focus on the science in the editing and overall presentation of the work. We also transcribe.
- Mentorship for those passionate about enhancing their research capacities: Out of mentorship, other junior researchers can take research seriously and begin to create impact around society. We focus on the multiplier effect.

As mentioned, a key mission of ICICREMW will be to study mass communication in a wired world. In this light, the history, evolution and uses of different means of mass communication will be studied over time. This will also include the sociology of mass communications in areas chosen (rural or urban). In addition, the psychology of mass communication is examined at micro, meso, and macro levels. Mass communication is also studied in consideration of the types of societies within which such communications exist.
Content creation on YouTube is another important trend in mass communication research. YouTube is trending today. We create content for our YouTube page and other social media handles.
Our experience with the mass media is a major way through which we gather knowledge about the world. So, it is not surprising today to see people carve their realities of the world from what the media portray as reality. So, the media have become some sort of standard through which social life is measured.
The mass media, over the years, have remained veritable instruments for information, education, entertainment, and persuasion. We study these media dimensions, with emphasis on audiences’ (including children’s) meaning making from the media, and how that translates into reality. We also render considerable attention in the study of current issues in media violence, bearing in mind that media violence remains one of the most heavily researched issues in mass communication. Our research also focuses on media literacy, that is, how audiences can interact more productively with the media.
We have developed a system in which every member of ICICREMW can be able to participate freely to make things happen. We welcome contributions and insist that people express themselves directly and freely. We believe in the power of our team members, and are convinced that each member can perform at optimum, if given the right opportunity and direction.
We meticulously engage team members at all levels. This enables us gain amplified perspectives and understanding of each team member’s experiences, challenges, and opportunities for improved success.
It will also be relevant to understand which media, over time, consume much of audience attention. With this, it is hoped that ICICREMW will be a veritable and referred media research hub. Our brand as a research centre (ICICREMW) stands with the objective to constantly communicate our research findings for three main reasons: to understand, explain, and predict issues and trends; to create meaningful impact in society; to create an expert brand within the scientific community and beyond; and to defend the scientific worldview and general trust in science. This is why we acknowledge previous knowledge that has accumulated in the field of communication research, and feature what current developments are, considering evolution in media and technology, as well as changes in audience media consumption patterns, opinions, attitudes and behaviours.
